Canada Post and ShirtPunch to host Santa�s T-shirt Day and help raise funds for children

(Toronto, ON) – On Wednesday, December 5, Canada Post and ShirtPunch will partner to offer two limited-edition holiday-themed T-shirts to benefit the Canada Post Community Foundation for Children. Santa’s T-shirt Day will also remind children it’s time to write to Santa. The North Pole Post Office will handle more than one million letters over the next few weeks – each one answered by Santa and delivered by his special postal elves.   

Two T-shirt designs will be offered exclusively on ShirtPunch.com and all proceeds will be donated to the Canada Post Community Foundation for Children. With pop-culture designs, the T-shirts have a wide appeal for family and friends as stocking-stuffers or gifts under the tree. 

“Our T-shirt designs reference pop culture icons, anecdotes or analogies,” says Russ Montague, the founder of ShirtPunch and recent recipient of two Canada Post E-commerce Innovation Awards. “Giving a new spin on a holiday classic – writing to Santa – for little or big kids, is fun. And buying the shirt will support a great cause.”

Canada Post’s collaboration with ShirtPunch for Santa’s Shirt Day celebrates the nostalgia behind writing a letter to Santa in a contemporary way: cool designs for a cool cause just a click away.

ShirtPunch is landing a variety of endorsements from big-time celebrities, like Santa and Hollywood actors, but also large broadcast or video companies. Gaining limited-edition design licenses with popular partners is helping ShirtPunch’s growing notoriety south of the border.  From a company that started in Russ Montague’s basement in Oshawa, Ontario, ShirtPunch has grown into a successful e-commerce business in just over a year. The company was recently named Best New E-business and awarded the Consumer Champion Award (chosen by Canadians in an online vote) at the Canada Post E-commerce Innovation Awards.

Santa’s T-shirts will be available on ShirtPunch.com starting December 5 right up until Boxing Day.
