OTTAWA – Canada Post is reminding Canadians to mail their letters to Santa this week to ensure they receive a reply before Christmas.

Everyone is healthy and well at the North Pole, and Santa is working hard to end this challenging year on a great note. Santa is ready to receive letters from everyone around the world this year, and once again Canada Post is proud to help with his mail.

We are working closely with Santa and his elves so that all letters sent to the North Pole will receive a reply. But it’s a long way to the North Pole and back, so we are encouraging everyone to mail their letters as soon as possible to get a response from Santa before Christmas. We know Santa can’t wait to see all those colourful letters arrive, and our employees love to see them go through our postal system!

Tips for parents and children:

  • Always include a return address on your letter
  • No postage is required
  • Letter writing templates are available on canadapost.ca
  • Remember Santa's address!

All letters with a return address will receive a reply from Santa, but those sent after December 10 may not receive a response before the holidays.

Santa replies to more than one million letters every year! He receives and answers letters in 39 different languages, including Braille. Canada Post has been proudly helping Santa with his mail for almost 40 years. In that time, Santa’s North Pole post office has answered more than 30 million letters.
