Canada Post reminds Canadians to not let Grinch Spammers Spoil Holiday Celebrations

Canada Post is busy processing and delivering more than one billion pieces of mail, including millions of gifts to friends and loved ones. Unfortunately, this can create increased opportunities for fraudulent activities by Grinch Spammers looking to mislead people awaiting packages.

Canada Post advises customers to be wary of any emails they receive from senders claiming to be delivery companies, particularly those that invite customers to click on a link to obtain information about an apparent missed delivery.  Do not provide any personal information if prompted to do so by these emails.

Canada Post does not email customers when a delivery is missed. Customers can follow the progress of their item by using the package tracking number, either on canadapost.ca or through the Canada Post mobile app, which can be downloaded for free to all key mobile devices.

For those customers who have not yet mailed their holiday packages, there is still time. Within Canada, Canada Post can still deliver your gifts quickly and cost-effectively before Christmas. Simply send any packages by Xpresspost up until and including December 21. Last minute shoppers can use our fastest shipping service, Priority Next A.M up to December 22, to get their packages to their destinations before Christmas. To get packages to the USA before Christmas, the best option is Canada Post’s Xpresspost service before December 16 or Priority Worldwide until December 20. For overseas destinations, use the Priority Worldwide service by December 15 for by mail to Africa, by December 16 for mail to Australia and New Zealand and by December 17 for mail to Europe, Asia, Central/South America, the Caribbean or the Middle East.

Canada Post wishes all our customers a happy – and Grinch Spam-free – holiday.
